For example, a student who has not completed or is currently sitting in English 10 cannot take English 11. Students need to be eligible to take their course request. Registration does not guarantee enrollment into the course. We understand that students may have summer plans such as jobs, athletics, trips, camps, etc but students must continue to have computer and internet access throughout the summer. We ask that all students and parents take summer plans into consideration prior to registering.On average students spend 4-6 hours per day to successfully complete the course within the six-week session.To receive this discounted price, students and/or parents will need to be willing to provide their current school year letter from the PWCS Food and Nutrition Department verifying this status and send it to VPW Admin at NOTE: It is highly recommended that students register for only ONE VPW summer course, however, TWO courses will be permitted if necessary. Students are expected to be able to work independently and collaborate with their teachers and peers. VPW courses are primarily asynchronous (self-paced) with some synchronous interactions. VPW courses are NCAA approved as non-traditional courses. Students and teachers communicate within the learning management system and via PWCS Office 365 email accounts. These courses are delivered via Canvas, PWCS’ learning management system, and coursework is completed outside school hours. Virtual Prince William offers students the opportunity to take courses online for the completion of graduation requirements, to recover credits, and to balance academic and extracurricular opportunities.
